The Hosts

  • Ed Perry

Life changed forever for Ed when he trained for and ran his first marathon in 2015 in memory of his Dad. Through running he found that he was healthier, fitter, more disciplined and generally a happier and better person in all areas of life, at home, at work and on the track. He still runs marathons, and is fascinated by the impact and learnings that running can have on everyday life.

Ed runs Freedto, a Communications and Digital consultancy that enables impact for good through thoughtful communication and efficient use of digital.

  • Jenny Nesbitt

Jenny discovered the power of running as a young girl, when she used it as a positive focus and drive when overcoming an eating disorder. After finding both a love and talent for the sport, she has since gone on to run for GB and Wales at World, European and Commonwealth level. She now runs professionally for New Balance.

Jenny believes running (or any form of exercise) can have great positive impacts on everybody’s mental health and is an advocate for shining its use in a positive light.

  • Ro Kallicharan

Rohan found running at the age of 38 when he decided to take on the unlikely task of running 10k to raise money and lose weight. Over a hundred marathons later, he continues to raise money to change the lives of others but it is his life that has been transformed beyond recognition by running.

  • Gill Bland

Having shown no interest or aptitude for sport in her younger years, a one-off pact to do London Marathon in her late 20s turned into a long-term love of long-distance running.

Having run over 30 marathons and trained through marriage, birth and bereavement, running has woven itself through Gill’s life. She is still learning how best to harness her running-motivation for herself and the benefit of others.

What you’ll love about this podcast

Running

We love to run, and although we’ll try not to talk about it all the time, running is the central thing that links all our guests together.

Some of our guests are elite athletes, others are just recreational runners, but one way or the other running is important to them too. You’ll hear us discuss their recent races and the joys and tribulations of this sport we love.

Coaching

Coaching has been seminal for us all - Gary has just left his job in HR to become a full time professional executive coach! And the key tenet of coaching - that you’re facilitating the person or team you’re working with to get the best out of themselves - is what our podcast is all about.

We hope that you’ll find the stories we tell fascinating, but also practically useful with learnings you can apply to your own life.

Personal Growth

We love to learn. Ed and Gary are both going through periods of transition in our own lives, in setting up our own businesses, and juggling busy family lives. Jenny is juggling the challenges and expectations of being an elite athlete.

We want you invite you on the journey with us, as we learn and grow together. Each week there will be a ‘Go-do’, a quick practical task or exercise, inspired by the guest we’ve just spoken to, that will help us apply what we’ve just heard to our own lives. - We’ll be doing them too, and would love to hear how you got on!
